• The memory isn't easily user-accessible. The bottom panel has no access covers that would expose the RAM nor the internal drive.

• The slot for the 4gb of ram is adjustable. You simply go to the Geek Guys at Best Buy and find what size is available and at what cost. If two slots are available and it's 2 and 2, you can take out one of the the twos and substitute. If two slots and only one used simple. If only one slot you sacrifice the 4 and go higher. Ram is not inexpensive. So you could be looking at a few hundred dollars to go to an 8gb. I have a few laptops with 8 gbs and the computer does not use the extra ram unless I have a memory intensive software.
