• A:Answer Hi Jeff, Deco Mesh Wi-Fi Systems are compatible with other Deco Mesh models and can be managed through the Deco app. While they may not connect directly via Wi-Fi Mesh to your Orbi or with your Orbi app, you can use the Deco BE65 Outdoor in Access Point Mode by connecting it to your existing network with an Ethernet cable and setting it up through the Deco app.

• A:Answer You should never setup a router in an enclosed space. It’s an outdoor router, so it can handle the elements. Routers lose a lot of signal in an enclosed situation. If it has to be enclosed make sure the encloser is decent in size and out of the direct sunlight, but again don’t recommend that.

Q: QuestionHi, I currently have the 3 node BE95 mesh system with a BE25-Outdoor. The WiFi is great but since I added the BE25 it seems to drop out on my phone for a split second once in a while. Will this BE65 be more compatible than the BE25 and help my situation?

Q: QuestionCan the BE65 Outdoor unit connect to another node, or does it require connection to the base router?

• A:Answer Hi Floyd, Yes, the Deco BE65-Outdoor can connect to another node besides the base Deco in your Mesh network. You also have the ability, through the Deco app, to assign Connection Preference parameters, including which node(s) connect to which, and which client devices connect to which nodes.

Q: QuestionI have a existing TP-Link mesh system. I know I can connect this to my existing system and the location I want to place it is within the required distance. If I place this in a metal garage will the it be able to connect?

This is due to the nature of Wi-Fi and how it interacts with different materials. Depending on how far away the garage is from the nearest indoor Deco node, and whether you intend to connect the Deco BE65-Outdoor via Mesh Wi-Fi or via Ethernet, your results may vary.
