“I have Spectrum modem/router is in back of house. Purchasing this to extend the wifi thru my "L Shaped" house. When I connect this new router to the existing modem/router, will I have to call Spectrum to have them turn off my their wifi?”

No, you don't have to call your provider and turn off WiFi. Just follow the instructions that comes with this TP Link and connect one node with your spectrum router/modem and setup the other 2 wherever you want to. Your WiFi will work as before and you need to update your devices to use the TPLink WiFi and don't use the spectrum wifi . Hope this helps. There is also a YouTube channel by TPLink support and they do have some videos you can watch or call them if you need help. Their support is very good and I did call them once with some questions.
