Only records when motion is detected. Two days of storage to the cloud unless you opt for s paid subscription.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here is what I did. I logged into it whenever I wanted to use it and logged out when done. This will minimize the data usage. (you are streaming video which at any resolution will add up. Log in and out. It does save little video "snips" when it detects movement. You could always go back and review them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only when there is movement, data is used and recorded.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When motion is detected, clips and snapshots will be uploaded to the cloud, thus consuming data. While watching the live view/stream, it will also consume data; however local live streaming (if app and camera are on the same unlimited WiFi network) should not consume cellular data from a smartphone. Depending on which resolution setting you have chosen in the Kasa Smart app for your KC120, its bitrate may vary. For example, recording at 1080p may consume up to 1200Kbps, whereas 720p may be closer to 750Kbps. If you are watching the live view while clips are being simultaneously recorded (1080p), the bandwidth requirement can potentially reach or exceed 2.5Mbps. Regards, TP-Link Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it with my cable WiFi but I think it only uses data when it detects motion and when accessed live.
