The instructions say to connect the camera to your wifi before installing it outdoors. That way you can position it closer to your wifi source during the setup. That allows it to initialize and download any firmware updates with a stronger connection. Then move it outdoors and install it where you want it. It doesn't matter how close the phone is to the camera when setting it up. It is the distance from the camera to the wifi source that matters. Your phone is not directly communicating with the camera at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Possible your wifi not strong enough to make a connection. Or it might be updating. Give it sometime.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You may need to connect to the WiFi connection that shows up for the KASA camera, especially if you are using with the KASA app on an iPhone. I was having the same problem and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong trying to install on my Android phone. So my 16 year old son started trying to figure it out and he connected to the WiFi for the KASA exterior cam first then connected to the home WiFi and Bam it started working!! Hopefully this helps and good luck!!
