You can keep your same number miner and I used the same SIM card going from SE to 6s. The number and current plan will resume as soon as the card is transferred to new phone.

Back up your old phone. Apple should provide a way to transfer everything. Yes the sim card is compatible according to Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202645 Your phone number would transfer anyway even if you had to get a new sim.

If the SIM card is from Verizon prepaid like the one I got it should work. I had Verizon prepaid and bought an iPhone 6s for prepaid as well and it worked. Hope this helped
