A:AnswerThere are other factors besides the distance that will have an impact. If you are outside and are in line of sight to your car, you should be able to reach the rated distance (1/2 mile with the included fob our 1 mile with a fob upgrade.) I got the upgrade and my office is about 1/3 mile to the car. I can't start from inside, and I have to walk about 1/4 block (to get line of sight to the parking lot) in order for it to work.
If you also get the Smart Start module and pay for a subscription, you can control your car with your smart phone and free app from virtually anywhere.

I bet it will work fine in your vehicle, but I recommend 2 things:
1. Go by your local Best Buy that offers installation and confirm it will work for your vehicle and
2. Consider the adding on the Viper VSM450 module to their DS4 system. This module allows you to operate the system from your cell phone. This requires a plan from Viper. The one way remote in the DS4 box is limited in functionality. If you are not interested in the Viper cellular module and plan, I would recommend you add-on a pair of additional remotes that offer 2 way communication.
