If a LInksys WiFi router is advertised as ready for 4k tv, then it is 802.11ac dual band compatible and will connect to this TV. The router needs an Ethernet connection to a suitable cable modem (or equivalent) so that connection will not become a choke point. However, a Magnolia associate told me that the greatest weakness of this TV was its "smart" facilities. When I told him I already had a Roku Ultra, he told me to use that (connected by Wi-Fi to the 802.11ac dual band router in my Xfinity combination Internet-TV-WiFi router) and plug the 4k TV into my Roku with an HDMI 2.0 (4k compliant) cable. The TV's own Wi-Fi is fine for lots of things, including downloading new firmware, but an external TV box will (for example) do a better job of providing continuous playback of 4k movies. I didn't ask about other brands or newer Roku boxes... Best Buy (and Magnolia) associates can help there.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This television should work with any router that uses a 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz frequency.
