• Settings in the picture mode have auto dimming feature which was slow to respond.

• Ours has never flickered. It sounds like you got one with a defect.

• Ours is not much older, it does not flicker. The picture is the same as the first time we used it.

• Mine does not flickr. I have read there are batches of this TV that just had bad production issues, maybe you got one of those. If tweaking the settings does not help, I would take it back for a replacement.
