“Love this Vizio 65". The specs say depth with stand is 10.87 inches. I have a mantle 7.25 inches deep. I fully appreciate that it would not be the safest installation... BUT, if I wanted to assume that risk, could the TV still "stand" on the mantle?”

I wouldn't do it. the "A" shaped legs are 10 3/4' front to back. If you have a mantle, I would hang the TV above it and lose the legs. Good luck!
