- Answer The satellite speakers are connected to the subwoofer using the provide speaker cables. Then the subwoofer is connected wireless to the sound bar.

QuestionFrom what I am gathering, the rear speakers gets hardwired to the sub. If I want to mount the rear speakers to the wall, I will have exposed wires?.. unless I run the the wires through the wall?

- Answer The content that will be sent to the rear speakers is dependent on what's happening on screen. Surround sound is to create an immersed sensation that you're in the middle of the action. If dialogue is occurring behind you on screen, such as background noise during a scene, you may hear it coming from the rear speakers.

QuestionBuying this for a gift, so I'm not that familiar with soundbars, but the one thing the recipient wanted in one is for automatic volume control for commercials. I didn't see this specifically in the Q&A or product information. Does this model have this?

QuestionDoes this system use the same method of communicating with the sub/rear speakers as the S4251? I have the S4251, and although I like it, I traced it down as being the definite culprit in interfering with my 5ghz WiFi network.

- Answer Thank you. The S4251 definitely interfered with my 5ghz WiFi... with the soundbar off, network throughput tests would show the expected ~300mb/s, but if I turned the soundbar on, throughput would instantly drop drastically (under 50mb/s, sometimes even as low as 6mb/s). This effect was observed repeatedly, over the course of several days. However the good news is that the SB4051-D5, which I did purchase, is NOT showing this issue... I'm not seeing any discernible effect on WiFi throughput (on 5ghz or 2.4ghz) with this new soundbar operating nearby, so all is well. But it's interesting that you state that the communication method is the same with the older system and newer. Perhaps mine was somehow defective and was emitting interference unrelated to the sub/rear link. But in any case, the newly purchased system is working fine and is not interfering with my WiFi.

- Answer Yes, the subwoofer is wireless Bluetooth. Rear two speakers do attach to the subwoofer by wires however.

QuestionDoes this device support 5.1 on Netflix? I heard Netflix only supports dolby atoms and dolby digital PLUS...... not dolby digital. So is this system compatible with dolby digital plus?

- Answer If your VIZIO TV has HDMI Control (most new ones do) then the TV will control the sound bar. Once the sound bar is recognized it will turn on the sound bar, turn off TV speakers, and valumencontrols are sent to the sound bar all automatically. Just make sure sound bar is plugged into HDMI 1 (or the one labeled as HDMI-ARC). If your TV does not have this feature or you do not wish to connect via HDMI then other option is most VIZIO remotes also work the VIZIO sound bars, you may have to enable this function on the sound bar but it does work.
