- Answer It plugs in to charge yes. But you don’t need it in all the time to use it. Just to charge when battery is low

- Answer Hi - The VTech VM5254 comes with a wall mount bracket for the camera. Instructions on how to mount the camera is indicated in the Quick Start Guide booklet it came with. Thank you, -VTech Support

QuestionIs this monitor suppose to turn on when it detects movement and stay on for as long as there continues to be? Ours will turn off even while baby is still moving.

- Answer No it doesn’t. The port you see in the picture is actually the power port to plug it in to recharge the battery or run from the wall power.

QuestionMy screen is black and white-how do I change to color?

- Answer Hi - We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the VTech VM5254. Sometimes the light sensor can get "stuck" thinking the room is dark when it is not, causing Night Vision to turn on. Try to shine a flashlight, smartphone flashlight or other bright light at the front of the camera to try to reset the light sensor. If this does not help, you can contact our Customer Support at 1-800-595-9511. We are open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays. Thank you, -VTech Support

QuestionI have an child with Autism & need to see more of the room, not just the bed. Do you have a camera & monitor that can allow a larger field of view & still keep a 4" to 5" screen? Night viewing, 2 way communication, room temp and no wifi, if possible.

- Answer Jessie - You can turn on the sound activation screen feature of the VTech VM5254. When it is on, and the baby unit detects no sound, the parent unit screen stays off to save power. Once a sound is detected, the parent unit screen and speaker turns on automatically. Thank you, -VTech Support
