QuestionCan I access voice mail on a phone without a carrier? can I just call my phone and check those locally recorded emails?

- Answer Hi - The messages left on the built in answering machine of the VTech CM18445 can be accessed remotely. You can dial your phone number using any touch tone phone, then enter the remote access code. The system will play new messages (if there is any), then followed by old messages. QuestionNew purchase. We have the main line coming in and if it is busy, call rolls over to line 2. Should a person not be available to answer, will answering machine pick up call? Or if someone is on line 2 can Line 1 take the message on answering machine?

QuestionWe have the Vtech CM18445 Small business system. A couple weeks ago the answering system suddenly stopped working, and calls are rolled from line one to line two and then to line three, but never answered. I cannot figure out how to fix this.

You can hook this phone up to replace your old phones if you have a regular landline service. The telephone base can register up 9 devices (CM18245 or CM18045). QuestionIf someone calls and has to leave a voicemail, will the voicemail play audibly while they are leaving the voicemail? Or would they be able to record their voicemail privately without people in our lobby hearing it?

- Answer Hi - Messages recorded on your Voicemail service will not be announced audibly on the telephone system. The built in answering machine of the VTech CM18445 on the other handset has a call screening feature. When the said feature is set to ON, you will be able to hear the messages via speakerphone while callers are leaving a message on the built in answering machine of the unit. Thank you, -VTech Support

QuestionI have 3 phone lines right now and my phone system has 1 phone line going to each phone. The lines automatically rollover to the next line if the main number is busy (Comcast). Do you need all 3 lines going into the Vtech? Will it rollover automatically?

QuestionI can't get the hold to go off after a call. Sometimes I can get it to go off after hitting multiple buttons and hanging up the phone. Its never the same though.

- Answer Brian - We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the VTech CM18445. The telephone system has an auto hold feature. The current call will be put on hold when you switch to another line and it will stay on hold even if the other party has already ended the call. You need to manually go back to the previous line to take the call off hold. QuestionCan the main console CM18445 connect to my existing 4-line Comcast system as an add-on? The existing phones are AT&T 1070 wired phones. Not wireless. Does that matter? OR does the entire phone system need to start with CM18445?

QuestionThe lines on hold don't clear the light when the customer hangs up so I have to clear it by manually answering it and hanging up. Is there a setting I can change to stop that from happening?

- Answer Hi - The hold feature of the VTech CM18445 will not disable even if the person on the other line has ended the call. It can only be disabled by manually turning off the line. Thank you!

The said feature will not work on another phone that is not part of the system.
