• Hi Dar, The fireplace is a simple plug-in unit, and does not have a remote. However it does have 2 switches on the face of the unit that allow you control heat and flames separately. It can heat a room up to about 400 sq. feet. If you're asking if you can use your remote on components behind the doors, the doors would likely need to be opened if you have a standard infrared remote, or the components placed on top of the unit.
