Failures happen but to pay more for a drive such as this and expect: 1. It will last longer, 2. WD or the company will stand by their product, then this is not the right product or company. I have had so many horrible experiences with this drive in servers and computers that at this point I would never use or recommend it. Seagate might have some issues depending on the product but studies consistently show they are much more reliable. Another brand to consider is Toshiba. The west coast cloud backup service company Backblaze publishes yearly studies on drive failures used by their company. Google it for ideas for what specific products to buy. Avoid this product!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am pretty sure It is not recommended to mix different brand, spec, or size HDD inside a NAS server, especially if you have it configured in any sort of RAID array.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seagate recommends Seagate drives only as a replacement. As long as its a 3.5 inch drive it will fit and should run. I would suggest something like a Seagate Constellation Drive to avoid any compatibility issues. Anything you get make sure its NAS compatible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I CAN THINK OF NO REASON WHY THIS SHOULDN'T WORK THE SAME AS ANY OTHER HARD DRIVE.
