“I bought this drive to use on a Dell XPS 8950. All the drivers and firmware are up to date but it still will not recognize the drive in bios so that Windows can recognize it. Any ideas?”

I don't know about that model but my HP that runs my security cameras is so old the BIOS recognized the drive it wouldn't format it past 2 GB. I had to go with the 2TB.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming you hooked it up right with both power and data cables, have you looked to see if the raw drive is there in windows? Click start, go to Windows System then right click on this PC, more then manage. A window will pop up, go to Disk Management and you will see all drives that windows detects. The new raw drive will be black. You can right click and format it. Check both cables and look where i said, if not seen, could be a bad HDD
