QuestionI have a HP All-in-one desk top will this drive work in it and how long is it?

- Answer I am a pc repair tech. Some all-in-ones use desktop drives, some use laptop drives (smaller and thinner). If you have opened yours up, it’s easy to see if there’s a desktop drive in it or not. You might also find out by googling the model number. The drive is a standard size as pretty much all drives are, roughly 4” wide X 5 3/4” long and 1” tall.

QuestionWill this HDD fit in the Dell XPS 420. Will using the Dell Vista OS disk that came with th PC be a simple install? Do I need any additional connection cabling to complete the installation? Thanks

- Answer This HDD is a standard size HDD and should fit. But I am not familiar with the 420 so I suggest Googling "installing HDD in Dell 420" and you will find several links that might help. My experience was installing this HDD in a Dell 8920 and it was a snap and no additional cables were required. Is this HDD going to be your primary HDD or a secondary? If primary your OS disk should enable to to boot up and install the OS. If this new HDD is going to be a secondary drive you do not want to have an OS on it or you will have a conflict. Simply format it.

- Answer Thank you for your post. Unfortunately we cannot say for sure if a 1 TB drive will work in a specific computer system. There are many factors that determine what size hard drive a system can support and the best way to find out is to contact the computer manufacturer. Sometimes the user manual may list what capacities the computer can support. You can also check on e-machines website to see if they may have a BIOS update. Some manufacturers will release a new BIOS and in the release notes it may tell if the update works with larger hard drives and what the capacity limitation is. - Answer While I do not have any experience with your particular configuration, I do have 3 of these drives running on different systems. One is on a stand alone Windows 7 system, another is on a stand alone Windows 10 system and the third one is on a stand alone Ubuntu Linux system. These are pretty generic drives, so I don't see why it would not work for you.

- Answer This was installed in a Dell Precision Workstation. This is NOT a hard drive for a laptop. You need to find a HDD for a laptop: 3¾" x 2¾" this one is 5¾"x 4" so it will not physically fit inside the laptop.

- Answer In the specs under compatibility it says: Windows® 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 macOS High Sierra™, Sierra El Capitan Note: Compatibility may vary depending on user’s hardware configuration and operating system. Acronis™ True Image™ WD Edition designed to work with Windows systems only. You may need to find a HDD made FOR the ps2. I would think that the physical size of this drive would make it impractical.

- Answer You should be fine. Install wise it's pretty simple, if your case allows it you can simply put it next to your other HDD and screw them in place so they are secure in the HDD bracket. Remember to have a power cable and data cable for the HDD too.
