QuestionI have 2 WD back up hard drives that are full. I want to replace them with 2- 4 terabyte WD drives is this a good choice or should I go with the either "G" hard drive or the Lacie Porsche drive. I am only interested in backing files, photos (25,000) etc

- Answer Connect with USB. Format the drive using Disk Utility. Set up Time machine to now use this new drive. Easy.

- Answer The easystore drives have a higher regular price than the typical WD drives, as they are meant to be a more premium Best Buy line. However, they usually go on sale once a month or so for less than what the Passport or My Book drives cost on sale. They have been known to come with faster hard drives inside as well, but that might vary.

- Answer No, once you connect the Hard Drive to a separate device it will have to be formatted so it can be recognized. From PC to PC should be good based on the Operating System but Gaming System to System most likely will NOT work unless both devices have the same update patches.

QuestionHooked up a 2TB WD easystore that I was using for backu to an Arlo Pro basestation and followed the Arlo indicated it needed to be reformatted to FAT32 file system. After Arlo formatting finished neither Arlo or PC recognize disk. What do I do?

- Answer Contact Arlo, sounds like they killed your drive. It may need to be low level formatted which will have to be done by manufacturer and they should pay for any charges.
