The WD Elements is an External USB Drive, not a USM drive. You need a portable "SATA Universal Storage Module (USM) hard drive" for the USM Slot. Dell and Seagate sell these, perhaps Western Digital and Verbatim. You can also check with Lenova. Look up "seagate go backup model STBU1000100" CHECK THIS LINK: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-and-ErazerX/Best-Portable-USM-HDD-for-K450-hot-swap-bay/m-p/1263977 Find this by webkitten2 Re: Best Portable USM HDD for K450 hot-swap bay 10-26-2013 08:43 PM She uses a "Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive" w/o the USB cap. USM hard drives are still a fairly new invention and just haven't become popular yet. Another type of swappable drive. Seagate isn't the only manufacturer of this type of drive. This is a revolution in standarization in drives not only for computers, but these can be used in TVs, cable boxes and etc. Good luck. Search for "usm hard drive" or "usm hard drive for lenovo"
