• Yes, there are My Cloud forums that explain hot to connect to your computer directly but it is unclear to me if you'll get to share on line if it is connected directly to your computer. My best guess it that if it is connected directly to your computer it would then be like an external hard drive but I can't be 100% sure on that. Usually it connects directly to your router and you can connect it to your computer.

• It is meant to plug into the router. You are paying for Ethernet connectivity with this model so it will work with router.

• Both, you plug it into your router but optionally can also plug it into your PC to make local transferring easier, you can map it like a regular drive and manage it.
