“I don't have a laptop, so I need to install software to allow me to transfer video from my VCR to here, then to my PC to edit. (Home movies) Will this work? TIA”

Hi DisneyFan, This device will not work with VCR. The My Cloud Home ships with a Gigabit Ethernet Interface. Best practice, to take advantage of the performance capabilities this device, is to directly connect to a Gigabit router or network switch with direct access to the Internet.
