QuestionWill the WD my passport SSD work for the ps5. I just bought one and told it would. I just had my doubts and would like a second opinion.

- Answer Hi, Sony added support for external USB hard drives on the PS5 with their April 2021 update. However, due to PS5 restrictions, games can only be played off the console’s internal SSD. QuestionDoes this WD My passport 1 TB External USB Type C portable SSD- Blue come with back up software that works with Windows 10? If not, what 1 TB external USB drive will have back up software? That is my main purpose for getting this, to back up my desktop

- Answer WD offers backup software for their drives for free with the purchase of the drive. There are also free options. I do not recommend using an SSD drive for backup of important files and would rather use a HDD. SSDs have a shorter lifespan than actual hard disk drives. Unless you need the transfer speed that a solid state drive offers.

One common choice is the exFAT format, which is supported by both Windows and macOS. Here's a quick guide: Backup Your Data: Before formatting, make sure to back up any important data on the drive. Format the Drive to exFAT: On Windows: Right-click the drive in File Explorer, select "Format," choose "exFAT" under File System, and click "Start." On Mac: Open Disk Utility, select the drive, click "Erase," choose "exFAT" under Format, and click "Erase." - Answer Yes it works. You can leave Plugged in to Either. You can save games on it if you have run out of space. I use the wd black box on ps5 and works perfect. It’s external hard drive I believe though. Either way. This one works too
