• You do not have to use the encryption and password protection. It is not on by default. You can use like any other external drive. Drag and drop from computer or other drives.

• You can configure this to automatically recognize your laptop and skip the password so you don't need to delete or not have a password which is highly recommended. Yes you can drag and drop from any computer that's connected to the drive or from other drives that are connected to the drive through the same computer
