“It says USB 3.0/2.0 but will it really work with only the 2.0?”

It will work with any computer that has USB 3.0 or 2.0 like my Alienware. This type of external hard drive that is 3.0/2.0 is the best to have than you will not have to worry what kind of USB port the computer has. The only difference with 3.0 is faster transferring of files.

Yes, I am using it on both my old laptop with 2.0 and my new one with a 3.0 USB.

It will work at either 2.0 or 3.0 depending on the speed of the usb port on your computer or device. If your usb port is 2.0, it will run at 2.0. If your usb port is 3.0, it will run at 3.0.
