Take your files on the go with this WD My Passport Ultra external hard drive, which offers a 3TB storage capacity to accommodate your music, movies and photos. The USB 3.0 interface enables easy connection, and the compact design provides portability.
Q: Is is compatible with Windows 10?
A: Both my desktop and my laptop are using Windows 10.
Q: does this automatically save from your PC or must you manually copy and save from PC?
A: If you configure it to do this automatically it does it, however I prefer doing this manually since that way I'm pretty sure which files are the ones I want to back up and which ones not.
Q: It says USB 3.0/2.0 but will it really work with only the 2.0?
A: It will work with any computer that has USB 3.0 or 2.0 like my Alienware. This type of external hard drive that is 3.0/2.0 is the best to have than you will not have to worry what kind of USB port the computer has. The only difference with 3.0 is faster transferring of files.
Q: Can this fly
A: I used this drive up to 8000 feet, which is about the same as aircraft pressurization. No problems. Most of the drives are rated to 10,000 feet.
Q: will this work out of the box with a macbook pro? needs reformatting?
A: This HD will work with a MAC but yes, it will need to be reformatted. It's actually a very easy process. Plug in the HD. Go into applications, utilities, then disk utility. You'll see the HD listed on the left side of the window. Click it. When you do you will some tabs to the right. Go to the tab that says erase. There will be a drop down menu where you will select what format you want. Chose the one for MAC and then click format. You can also choose FAT32 format which will allow you to use the HD on both MAC and PC but there are pros and cons to doing that. Hope this helped, if not, try YouTube
Q: Can you drag and top to this from Computer?
A: Yes, from file explorer.
A: This drive can be formatted either to operate in a windows or Mac O/S. If you are looking to use this drive for a Windows O/S environment as well as a MAC O/S environment it is possible but not right out of the box. I would suggest reading this article from CNET regarding how you can. http://www.cnet.com/how-to/the-best-ways-to-format-an-external-drive-for-windows-and-mac/
A: Yes it works great. Just follow directions on Xbox one. What I like about it is that it gets power from the USB port
