You will need an adapter to attach the supplied USB-C plug to the iPad's Lightening receptacle. You can access the drive using Apple's Files app or a 3rd party app.

In order to use this drive with your iPad, you would need to purchase a 3rd party adapter, then try it out with the drive. There are several companies that sell these adapters, but I’ve never used one, so I can’t speak to their reliability. I use my drive for photographic work, in order to maintain space on my computers’ hard drives and for portability. I find it works ok, but is a trifle slow.
