• Not all red drives are CMR, as there are some being sold with SMR without being advertised. I believe this is one of them, but can't be too sure

• I had never been asked this question and thanks for bringing to my attention. I read up on this and from what I am reading. The red drives are being shipped out at CMR. https://www.securedatarecovery.com/blog/choosing-cmr-smr-technology-hard-drives There is a page it says with a list of drives and the technology. Thanks. I run three Drobos and have several of these in them.
