“What type of batteries does it use and are they be recharged?”

Al, thanks for the great question. IASO utilizes built in Lithium Ion batteries that are easily recharged with the provided (or any micro USB plug in). You can also utilize our charging cradles provided in the Double and Quad packs for easy multi device charging, which will also use a USB interface charging. It is lithium battery inside the pod and it is USB-rechargeable.

The batteries are internal, rechargeable, not replaceable. The product comes with a charging station for 4 at a time. (But neither my wife or I got any pain relief from this, for whatever that's worth.)

I think it is lithium battery contained in the pod. You can recharge with its USB cable.
