It is a bit tricky at first. You set up all the cooking instruction with the door open (since that's where the touch pad is located), then close the door, and touch the > button on the outside, to turn it on. The fan, light and add 30 seconds are also on the outside. It take a bit of getting use to! All the programming instructions are nicely labeled on the inside of the door. You won't need the manual to look it up!
