Dear Customer: This compactor, model GC900QPPB, will weigh approximately 145 lbs including the shipping materials and packaging. Thank you for your interest in a Whirlpool compactor!

Please try again later.The compactor is installed under your counter, and when you pull the bin out, it slides out on a frame with what appear to be nylon rollers, so nothing touches the floor except where it sits under the counter. You might want to cover your wood floors during installation, just to be sure they are protected, but after that it shouldn't be an issue.
