gramsnewfridge, the cabinet finish is textured and the door finish is smooth. That is how the Refrigerator is designed. You should be able to just pull the plastic covering from the unit. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!
