The level of noise of a built in dishwasher is measured with it installed into a cabinet of some type. In order to have any DW be quiet you must have an adequate enclosure. I installed my DW inside a cabinet opening and since one side was open to a hollow inaccessible dead area under the counter top I added a piece of insulation there. The only noise you should have is that coming from the front of the DW which is well insulated as long as the insulated kick panel is in place.
