QuestionFor the life of me, neither my husband nor I can find the switch to turn off the ice maker. We read the instructions, but if it’s under the ice maker, we can’t see it. Would it just be easier to turn off the water supply if we go on vacation?

Questioni have the a whirlpool 24.6 side by side refrig. the order filter light came on. my refrigerator is connected to a filter at the sink to filter the water. how to keep the light from coming on since i should not have to use the filter. thank you; Betty

- Answer I am not sure if you can disable the filter light, but you can reset it by pressing and holding it for about three seconds. Then of course you will need to do it again in about 4 to 6 months.

QuestionThe red #H2O light went on but this fridge was bought May 2019 and it is only October 2019. Is there a malfunction for the filter to need changing so soon? Also the water is not cold despite fridge and freezer being cold

- Answer I hit the reset button and get another few months out of it. I live alone and need only to change the filter annually.. If you've got a passel of kids, likely 3 months would be normal.. As to the water temp, if it gets cold after the first glass, you're good. If it never gets cold= bad

QuestionIs there supposed to be a removable tray for the water/ice dispenser? Mine does not have one. There is always an extra drip after dispensing water and it misses the indentation because the dispenser is too far out. It makes a water line down the door.

- Answer THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ANSWER BECAUSE IT IS NOT CORRECT!! This extra couple of drips after dispensing water is ridiculous! The water spicket is at the edge of the door and has water running down the outside of the door. This is unacceptable!! All others are set back so tray will catch any excess spillage. What can you do to make this right. We are continuously cleaning floor and front of door.

- Answer Guidebook says it is. My experience is that the first 6-8 oz are cold. After that it warms up. If you fill a 24-32 oz cup, you better have ice in the cup.

QuestionI have seen conflicting reports of the temperature bars. I have seen some say more bars for colder and some that say less bars for colder. One review said the manual was wrong by saying less bars for colder. can anyone give a definitive answer on this? TY

- Answer The manual is incorrect by stating that 1 bar is coldest and 5 bars is least cold. It is the opposite. We learned the hard way a few months ago by setting it at more bars with the result that the food froze in the main compartment. The refrigerator is warmest at 1 bar. I wish the company would correct their manual. Tom

QuestionI've entered a ? earlier about which direction the red digits on the freezer and refrigerator side should be adjusted for cold or warmer , I call Whirlpool and they said the less red digits lit, mean the colder both sides would be and to give it 24 hrs .

QuestionDoes this model have blue LED lighting? If not, do higher end Whirlpool models have blue LED lighting?

- Answer Gman, the unit has a white lighting that show the true color of the food. The blue lighting distorts the color of the food. Also this unit does have two light to make sure its well lit even when full with food.
