• A:Answer Best Buy will be able to determine whether your older model will work on a new one. You need to submit both old and new models. I just had to do that having purchased a new whirlpool washer with an older dryer on top.

In a recessed area or closet installation when a Washer and Dryer are stacked together, a 5-inch space behind the units is required while 6 inches of space above the units is required. In a recessed area or closet installation with only the Washer, it is required to have 1 inch of space on all sides. In a customer cabinet installation, it is required to have at least 1 inch of space on all sides. We hope this helps.

Our stacking kit is a universal stacking kit, but is only universal in the sense that any paired Washer and Dryer model can be stacked with it. Non-paired Washers and Dryers we do not recommend stacking together, as stacking could make them unsafe to operate in your home.
