“The washer I have (model WTW5500XW1) came with the house. It looks to be fairly new. But it won't fill with water. The water is on and the lid locks, but no water comes into the drum. Anyone else had this problem and, if so, what was the fix?”

After we got our washer tyrns out the drain pipe in the house for the washer was broken so all the water went into the basement. Had maintence guy come in and fix it. After he was done i did lau dry but it would fill up. After about 5 minutea of noticing, i had to u screw the hot and cold water knobs so water could come through. Hopefully thats all thats wrong in your case too.
