Dear Tara: This washer, model WTW8200YW, is designed to be used with the high efficiency (HE) detergent only. Thank you for your interest in a Whirlpool washer!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All HE style washers require detergent that is labeled "HE" or "Good for all washers". There are plenty of different detergent brands making HE detergent so you should not have any problems finding some.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You must use HE detergent and no more than 2 tablespoons per load. That is the requirement for mine anyway. If you don't then it clogs the machine and your clothes will have a mildew smell.
