I have used a Samsung Note 3, Samsung Galaxy 7 edge and a few other phones without any connection issues. As for the connection, I purchased a third party wire harness kit to make the installation a breeze. You do not need to purchase the additional wire harness kit, but it makes the installation 10 times easier and faster.
