A:Answer This sounds a little crazy, but I have ATT U-verse as well and all you need to do is ADD component hook-up (red, blue, and green wires) between the cable box and TV, and an Optical connection from TV to the cable box as well, then set the TV INPUT to COMPONENT (on the TV's menu) and you should be all set. You will not need the HDMI connection between cable box and receiver, and I would suggest that you disconnect it unless you want to re-set the TV's INPUT to COMPONENT every time you change the input on the receiver to "TV"
