Yes, this is compatible with Xfinity X1 cable box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Yamaha RX-V481 receiver is compatible with the Xfinity X1 cable box. I have the Xfinity X1 with voice command remote. I have experienced no issues with either the sound/video while the RX-V481 is on and amplifying, or with the signal pass-through when the receiver is turn off (for late night, quiet viewing.) If you are having problems I suggest the following: 1) Connect with HDMI only. 2) Make sure you are using the HDMI output connection from the Comcast Xfinity box to one of the four HDMI input connections on the Yamaha receiver. 3) Connect the Yamaha HDMI out (the first HDMI connection on the left, rear) to your TV's HDMI input. Additional troubleshooting note: The four HDMI inputs on the RX-V481 have slightly different default input configurations. They are listed in the pdf manual on the provided DVD and are reconfigurable. I temporarily had an issue with my DVD connection due to this. If your Xfinity connection does not seem to work you can look up/tweak the port configuration OR as a quick fix, plug your Xfinity cable into another HDMI input channel to see if that fixes it. If you are having issues regardless of the HDMI port you use, reboot your Xfinity DVR so that it can correct any copyright protection (Digital Rights Management) synchronization (the RX-V481 is HDCP 2.2 compliant.) Once you have found the HDMI connection that works best, you can reprogram the "TV" button on the remote to select the right input. Or, better yet, set the HDMI control setting to "enabled" under the RX-V481 setup and your Comcast/Xfinity remote will both turn on/off the TV and receiver and control the stereo receiver sound level instead of the TV internal speakers.
