“Does this receiver play 9 channel stereo? I have the 860 which is 7.2 but plays 7 channel stereo without a bi-amp which is what I prefer. I would definitely upgrade if it plays 9 channel stereo since I have a 9 speaker setup not including the sub”

• Yes, full 9 channel stereo. you can Bi-amp if you want to, but you do not have to.

• It will actually support 9.2 (2-subs); although, I have not set up my system that way... yet. ;~). You can set up multi-zone instead of 9.2 also.
