Using Bluetooth I can transmit a song from my cell phone to the receiver so I can hear it thru the speakers connected to the receiver. I can also transmit a song to my JBL link 500 by way of bluetooth. My phone has a sd card in it, and I can transmit to the receiver from the music stored on the card in my phone. P.S. The yahama receiver you mentioned is very nice. I enjoy using it all the time. Very Nice, exceptionally good sounding, lots of useable features.
