Q: QuestionHas anyone else had problems with getting 4k and hdr pass through to work?

• A:Answer Yes I had to go through the settings to make sure the hdmi passthrough worked without the unit being on. It initially worked fine with the receiver on, but not when the unit off and I wanted to have my tv work sometimes with the receiver off. I had to call customer service as i couldn't figure it out and after an eight minute wait found they were very helpful and walked me through it. I had to go to press the setup button, scroll to setup and press the enter button; then scroll to hdmi and make sure the hdmi control is set to ON and then push it again to get to the listings for ARC and make sure that is OFF. This is how it worked for my tv, but you can call the customer service number if it doesn't work for yours. Hope this helps

• A:Answer Let me correct my first reply to confirm this amp DOES have the auto-pwr feature - yay! When the cable or TV's HDMI go live, the amp can be set to come on and auto-set itself to that HDMI input (but its audio takes several seconds to start). I'm noticing the audio swing back-forth between loud and quiet, such as when a movie goes between loud action scenes and whispering dialogues, seems to leave the quiet passages hard to hear. Today I'm doing the microphone tuning for speakers, hoping might help. The other Sony amp seemed to handle the "quiet" audio much better, but, could also have been the media source was simply mixed better when I was using the Sony. Will see.

Q: QuestionI got this system because the description says you can switch between A and B speakers, I assumed that meant I can have 2 sets of front speakers and can choose either one or both, but I don't see anything on how to do this. B speakers are not working.

• A:Answer The guide says that you can play zone A and Zone B speakers together or separately. Though it seems this was meant for speakers in another room (to hear music in the kitchen for example) I don't see why you can't have them in the same room. I found the best way to fix a problem (I needed to go to the HDMI pass through settings to have the pass through work without the unit on) was to call the customer service tech and let them walk me through the settings.I had to wait on hold for about eight minutes, but they knew their stuff. If you have the speakers in different rooms you can also program the zone B speakers to play something completely different than in zone A (a movie in the living room and radio in the other). Yamaha's music cast app allows control over this from your smartphone, tablet ,iPad or computer, but you may be able to do it also with the remote. Again I would ask customer service about these options.

Q: Questiondoes this receiver have on screen display, i do not mean on the receiver screen but on the tv screen?

• A:Answer The on screen display is with a HDMI plug coming from the receiver's HDMI Out. The tv has to have HDMI plugs and turn on the tv to that source to view the onscreen display. You will not be able to watch tv while display is on. I hope this helps.
