QuestionWill 4 ohms speakers work with this unit?

- Answer Yes. But it also depends upon the efficiency of the speakers. I have a Yamaha integrated amp that has been running four floor stander speakers at 4 ohms (or lower) for over 25 years. And it is only an 115 watt amp. (It still works great, but it predates HDMI inputs). But it definitely puts me in the Yamaha fan club. On a side note, it survived two lightning power surges that killed two tuners. Remember that there are some very inefficient high end speaker that require 150+ watts to be happy.

- Answer Yes and No, if ur looking for a bass up or down then no. Each speaker can be raised or lowered independently in the menu. This is a high end receiver and should have a sub attached, I have two. The amp let’s u set up the crossover levels to determine the bass frequency crossover to each speaker and what’s diverted to the sub(s) I have the rx-a4a connected with 2 Paradigm performance series towers, paradigm center, M&K MX 12 sub, Klipsh Premier 12 sub and 4 Cambridge audio Minx min22s for rear surround and high overhead up front for front Dolby Atmos. Have it connected to an LG G1 77”. With recent firmware updates everything seems to be working really well. PS5 looks and sounds amazing.

- Answer No. But you can use an IR repeater to solve that issue. The device transmits the IR signal of the remote to a separate room.

- Answer I pasting my review if that helps. Yamaha: Its $1500 and front display is very poor and cant read/see from a distance of just 6 feet. What is the use of such display? Packing box and protection provided inside by thermacola is very poor. Initial setup guid is missing...only asks for network connection. Missing Denon like features where it will show on screen what is the input source audio codec and video details. Missing quick menu to switch to classic 2 channel stereo which is still the dominant audio codec. Remote is nice but much needed quick access like movie music game modes are missing. Bestbuy: This is $1500 product, please ship it in a exterior package that conceals the inside of it and also protects it. AMAZON does this for expensive products.

- Answer Yes, it does have pre-outs. And that allows additional amplifiers. It also has a trigger output to turn on the amp when the receiver is powered on. Most av receivers that have multiple sub outs have the option of mono or stereo outputs.

- Answer Both supports bi-amplification (as stated in the user manual). The A4A is using the same component as the A6A and A8A and YPAO is much more powerful. Just for that, and not the difference in power (100 wpc vs 110 wpc), I'd consider the A4A over the A2A.

QuestionIs the amp really only 100W for 7 satellite speakers? Seems a bit low. My Yamaha RA1O2O is 700W. I have 7 Klipsch satellites 4 G-12 and 3 G-16 each rated 75W and 100W respectively. So only need 500W. My 2 powered Klipsch subs dont need any amp power.

- Answer It's 110W per 2 channels, not for all channels. I don't know the specs if you use more channels, but my 5 channel system sounds great and is plenty loud enough for me.

QuestionYamaha's site shows this as a 110w system, not 80. Is this just a typo on the Best Buy page? Even the smaller A2A shows 100w on Yamaha's site. None of the new series Aventage show only 80w of power.

- Answer BestBuy is simply wrong/typo. Just as it's 7.2 and not 7.1. Always trust the manufacturer for specifications.

QuestionHow many watts 5 channel driven with this receiver?

- Answer It has 115 watts for two channels. The watts for 5 channels would be lower. The manufacturers don't typically put that in the specs. It just depends upon the capacity of the receiver's power supply. Yamaha generally puts "robust" power supplies in their high end amps & receivers . But my guess is around 70 -80 % for the 5 channels. And the subs have their own amps.

- Answer RX-A4A AVENTAGE do have 2 subwoofer ports. For a dual sub setup.
