• Yes it connects, VA strong magnet. Easley separates when needed but hold tight when using it.

• The case comes in two pieces: the cover for the iPad as well as the keyboard, which attaches magnetically. You also need to sync the keyboard to your iPad via Bluetooth. This maybe better suited for a high school or college aged student.
