Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They make several models of this case. some DO have backlit keys, some don't. Good way to tell, the lower priced ones ($40-60) usually DON'T have backlit keys. Mine doesn't have backlight, and I don't have a search button. Most of the time, the light given off by the screen is enough to iluminate the keys for me to type, as well as knowing how to touch-type without looking at the keybaord is very helpful. As for a search button, there is the SIRI/Microphone button... I know thats not EXACTLY the same thing, but it's all some models have. you can press and hold the "home" button on the top left to bring up siri, or hold the microphone button that is 2 spaces to the right of it. There are several "blue" function buttons (at least they are colored blue on my keyboard) that you would need to hold the "fn" key and press the corresponding blue button toactivate things such as Capslock, or thebackslash key, the tilde, ect. Be sure to check the model against the features you are looking for in the manual. I think most companies make ONE manual that covers several models that are similar enough, within reason so that they don't need to print out 5 or 6 different manuals. Hope this helped
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am now using my "second" Zagg Keyboard for my iPad mini. The first one I had is a couple of years old, and it had the back-lit keys. The new one I just purchased (9/2016) does NOT have back-lit keys. I wish it did.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are brightness keys on the top row to turn up or down the back lit keys - don't be confused by the 2 to their left, which turns the brightness of the iPad Pro up and down. Not sure about the search as I haven't tried it.
