Great performance, so-so battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I'm loving this Razer blade 15 base model. I bought it for content creation (video editing and photo) The only complaint is the battery life takes a hit, because of the smaller battery, the 2nd HDD taking up space. I knew this, and video and photo take up space, so I chose the 2nd HDD option rather than the Advanced model (which only has a single NVMe drive). This is one of the few content creation laptops that support 2 drives.... Still, I'm getting like 4-5hrs doing web and Netflix, which is kinda low. I probably need to tweak the battery settings and the Razer Synapse App. There are multiple settings to manage performance vs battery. (Windows, RAZER apps, and Nvidia settings) so that can be a little overwhelming. But it's nice to be able to change the settings and customize. I did manage about 2hrs on battery editing 4k video in Adobe Premiere. If the 4k files are on the NVMe drive during editing this thing is butter smooth. With the 4k files on the HDD the RAM usage goes up. But still handles video editing 4k files once they render on the timeline. Sidenote: Nvidia is working on Creator/Studio drivers rather than the Gaming drivers. They really want to optimize the GPU for creatives. Currently my Nvidia App/drivers get updates frequently, So, I'm glad Nvidia is still paying attention to the 1060 Max-Q graphics in this laptop.

Non gamer in love with this laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m not a gamer- but I needed the power and the storage this setup provides. Perfect answer to my work challenges. Lightning fast, ridiculous storage and it’s not too hard on the eyes either.

Amazing Device for most Gaming
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using this device for 3 days now And it’s Amazing! First I’ve used it for playing some games and it does over 60Fps in most games it is light for a gaming laptop weighing 4.5Lbs And it’s 0.78mm So it’s very thin like a lot of people say it is a fingerprint magnet by my first day using it.It already had many fingerprints so you have to clean it around every 3-5 days I’d say But overall it’s amazing I got the excellent Condition And it’s a bargain.

Dont buy it!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the laptop in July 2019, in August I realized that the laptop was not closing correctly and in a vertical position the lid opened with any tilt. I received a replacement from razer. This past Thursday it happened again but the laptop was inside the protective case inside my backpack, when I took it out it was burning hot so much that I burned my hand, I couldn't hold it for more than 3 seconds. There is a design flaw with this product that after one or two months of use, the screen opens by itself when tilted or simply does not close as it should. I am requesting a refund from razer because I no longer trust this product as it could have caused a major accident if I had not taken the latop out from the backpack. I do not want to continue dealing with this product and its problems and they provide me with nothing more than a "repair" Don't buy it

Great (Expensive) Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love this thing. Has no problem playing anything I've thrown at it so far. It does run very hot so I undervolted it, now it runs around 70°C under full load. My only complaints would be for the price this thing should really include a 144hz screen instead of the 60hz it has. Also, it's a fingerprint magnet, so I would recommend a skin for it. I have heard a lot of horror stories about dealing with Razers customer service and quality control, so keep that in mind. I did have a problem with the GPU on mine, so I exchanged it for a new one, with no issues from Best Buy. All in all I would say it's worth it if you want a powerful gaming laptop that isn't a tacky "Xtreme Gamer" looking laptop.

My first ever gaming/high performance computer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since this is my first ever actually good computer i dont know how it compares to other high end laptops but i can say its realllllly fast, you press the power button and boom instantly on no load screens or anything. I can play basically the most recent games like devil may cry 5 and RAGE 2 on ultra settings across the board. I also gears of war 4 multiplayer on ultra settings and it runs smooth as butter. I would of given it 5 stars but i get an occasional game freeze which is fixs by ctrl+alt+del. I undervolted to see if it would help with the freezing and heat (gets realllly hot which concerns me). Now it doesnt go passed 84C and thts usually a quick peak it doesnt stay at that temp, usually between 70C-75C while gaming. One more reason i didnt give it 5 stars is that the screen could be brighter and a little more vibrant. Overall id say its a great performing laptop, the build quality is great, i love the finish on it, its not big and bulky and its got a nice regular non-gaming laptop look to it. The price is pretty steep considering base model but you are paying for the name and quality of build/parts. If you have the extra cash to spend id say buy it in a heartbeat! I ended up buying razers RGB lightstrips and hooked it up behind a "27 144hz dell monitor that i got on sale ;) it definetly makes you more immersed into the game. No questions asked but id definetly buy it again or even upgrade to the maxxed out 4K model!!

Very impressed!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has exceeded my expectations for performance. Everything is smooth and sleek and it has a surprising amount of subtle features. It’s comparable to a MacBook Pro in feel but far far far more robust. My ONLY gripe of this machine is that it shows fingerprints somewhat easy. I was not expecting that and it takes a bit away from the overall aesthetic appeal of the laptop Like I said that’s my only gripe, thus far it has done everything I needed it to do and proven to be a very very good buy. I even bought my girlfriend the same model so she could enjoy it and not feel jealous that my laptop basically trivialized hers. But ya know... that’s love I guess... I would recommend looking into the accessories Razer makes such as the external GPU enclosure as i’ve Never seen anything like that before and now that it’s a technology I think it’s super cool. Though I haven’t purchased it yet. Still the possibilities... In closing I don’t regret it at all. I cringed a little when I swiped my card and then again when I swiped it for my girl but it’s been totally worth it!

Sleek & fast.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of debating I finally pulled the trigger on the late 2018 Razer Blade 15 (256GB/2TB). Satisfied with the appearance, and performance. Overall I think I got my money's worth. Purchased for light gaming and for gaming.

Q: QuestionCan you customize the keyboard like change the color of it
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This model has only TWO settings. Style, and color. ALL KEYS are the SAME color when lit. The color can be part of the style, or selected by you. But either way, when they are lit, they are the same. The advanced model allows each key to be a settable color, that YOU control. ALSO, on THIS model, the LOGO on the cover is always lit. With the advanced, you can change the color, and even turn it off.

Q: QuestionAre these laptops reliable, I hear horror stories about the Razer laptops. Will this model give trouble? Will this last long?
Asked by AsianJoeRogan.
- A:Answer Mine was bought Open-Box... But other than having to install a few drivers, it ran fine out of the box. I did eventually put in a new NVMe 1tb drive and clean installed Windows myself. No problems so far. Edits 4k video like a champ. I do recommend buying the 3yr Geek Squad Hardware Warranty,

Q: QuestionWhat is the battery life? can I remove and replace it with the third party battery when it is exhausted?
Asked by Johan.
- A:Answer I haven't checked the battery charge life lately, but it isn't that great. They have an "advanced" variant. The "ADVANCED" one DOES have a pretty good life. The way IT does this, is that it gets rid of the 2.5" drive, which obviously uses more power than the other drive type, and that leaves a big space there, which they use to increase the battery to 99.9w!!!!!! Apparently, the FAA allows ONLY batteries up to 99.9w, so that is the LARGEST battery you could ever have! It is also almost TWICE the size of the battery in the BASE version. As for the life of the battery over all, that depends on many things. I believe it IS replaceable, but obviously the company wants to replace it with THEIR approved stuff.

Q: QuestionI just purchased a alienware computer with the same specs and quite a bit less in price. Why are Razer so high in price?????
Asked by pcmacbob.
- A:Answer Well, I bought an MSI system, and the last generation of MSI systems were basically MADE to be a landmine so that you couldn't upgrade them without a lot of effort. So they were effectively impossible to upgrade. It ALSO DIED in 6 months, so I actually had to get my computer REPLACED at the beginning of covid, because it was in the shop for 2 months already, and I had NO idea where the world was headed. After looking at various reviews, it seems that until recently many laptop companies either boobytrap their laptops, or solder things in to prevent things like upgrades, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY MAY APPEAR TO CLAIM OTHERWISE. Some STILL do this, but thankfully people are starting to move BACK to the consumer model. When I asked for a replacement of the MSI that was NOT MSI, I was offered an Alienware system. BTW they made the choice on THEIR assessment of monetary value, and NOT about anything MEANINGFUL like the customers desires, needs, or use case. The Alienware FAILED in all ways with me, but the alienware that I was offered ALSO had SOLDERED RAM! That meant NO UPGRADE PATH! Also, if a problem happened with memory(I have seen this happen no less than 4 times), you would NOT be able to fix it yourself! SO CHECK THAT! BTW the alienware was BAD for me, because the color, style, and look were NOT business like, the computer ITSELF was NOT up-gradable or CLOSE, so I would be throwing the money I had down a toilet, and it just didn't match what I wanted. BTW this razer blade, though their tech support STINKS, IS up-gradable! The RAM can only be upgraded to 32GB apparently, the SSD can be upgraded up to only 2TB apparently, The SATA can apparently only be upgraded up to 4TB. I got so fed up working with the limitations of the base model, for my needs, that before I realized I hadn't determined how I wanted to proceed, I had already upgraded the ram to 32GB, and figured I would do that SATA also. So I got it to the BASE specs I originally wanted. But outside of needing a torx screwdriver, it was fast and easy as it should be. If it lasts long enough, and the prices come down as I think they will, I might upgrade everything all the way! 8) As for the RAZER being higher in price? It seems to be a nice system, checks all the boxes, so I don't think anyone would call it a cheap computer. The price seems to mostly be NAME, build quality, and the fact that it is actually milled aluminum, that is anodized. I WISH I could say it had super fantastic features, etc...., but the consensus is as I stated in the order I stated. OH, and the fact that it has the GPU is, FOR ME, the biggest thing adding to the price. I don't care if it has the GPU, etc..... but some DO, and THAT is EXPENSIVE! NOT only is the GPU expensive, but there is the supporting hardware, tweaking of everything to standards, and the improved cooling system to cool IT also! Basically, the GPU provides a way to offload graphics processing. It would be GREAT if you like playing games with lots of advanced graphics at high speed. Other wise, it really doesn't mean much. If you don't need the GPU, you can find a system without it, and it could EASILY knock the cost down 1-2 thousand dollars! THIS one seems so cheap compared to what I just said because it is a lower end and older GPU. STILL, it adds several hundred to the cost!
