I am so glad that I did!!! This movie has a lot of action, comedy and some light romance! You can't go wrong with a movie lime this! And it has great actor's! Such as Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren!!!! Now that's a cast!! I highly recommend this movie, you really can't go wrong. And did I mention Morgan Freeman? Yup he's in it as well. Retired extremely dangerous. Red. That alone should get people running to buy this great movie!!!

great entertainment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the 4K UHD disk with my Sony UDP-X800 player because I wanted to see the difference between DVD, BD and BD UHD on my LG 4K tv. Surprisingly the BD and DVD looked very similar with the BD getting the edge. This is likely due to the players upconversion. This BD, however, provided a quantum leap in quality. Both saturation and resolution were remarkable. Given the choice, and the equipment, I will buy 4K UHD from now on. Now; about the movie. This is a great vehicle for a bunch of Hollywood egos to ham it up in front of the camera. All four stars do an fantastic job but actually Hellen Mirren is the standout. I expect it is because this is a departure from her normal casting. So as to avoid spoilers I will simply say that this is a great movie combining serious drama, personal demons, action, and some comedic reliefs. If you like action movies, you can’t go wrong with this one.

A really fun movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't felt as good watching a movie since 2003's Pirates of the Caribbean. Unexpected lines and juxtapositions lift this tale. Okay, so the story is very improbable...not to worry given that part of the movie experience is suspending our disbelief. Bruce Willis charms. John Malkovich is humorously irascible. Morgan Freeman gives us his usual likable best. Helen Mirren wields an assortment of guns. And Mary-Louise Parker shows us how facial expressions and muffled sounds can turn a story line and spice up a story. There's not a single member of Willis's reunited team I wouldn't like to be around. There they are, seeking first why Bruce Willis is in the crosshairs, then why seemingly random people are getting murdered and finally bringing the evil-doers to a just end.

Great Action movie
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Frank (Bruce Willis) is retired, bored, and lonely living off of his government pension in a nondescript suburb in an equally nondescript house. The only joy in Frank's life is his calls to the government pension processing center when he gets to talk to his case worker, Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker). Sarah is as bored and lonely as Frank and marks her conversations with the unknown Frank and her spy novels as the only things fun in her life. When something in Frank's past forces him back into his old line of work and puts an unwitting Sarah in the middle of the intrigue, Frank and Sarah begin a journey into his past and the people with whom he used to work. Like Frank they are all RED

Good action thriller with a touch of comedy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought the Sony UBP-X 800 4k UHD Blue Ray player and I wanted a 4k HDR disc to try. The plot of the movie is formulaic but the acting is great if not over the top at times. The cast does a wonderful job of making us believe their characters (in my opinion Hellen Mirren steals the show). The directing takes the action way over the top bringing a comedic effect just from the number of spent shells shots. John Matkovic is great as the crazy member. Morgan Freeman brings class to the store and Bruce Willis does his usual. What impressed me most about this movie was the 4k HDR format. OMG the video quality was freakin awsome! We did have a problem with the disc in that 11:17 into Chapter 2 freeze then skip to 12:22 repeatably. Best Buy exchanged the BD with no problem and the second was fine.

Backhorror status on a simple old movie why
||Posted . Blown away by the picture quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review may be better placed as a review for the format more than the movie content. While I love the cast and story of the RED. series I wanted a disc to try with my new hb tv and Sony UHD blue rag player. The HDR color was amazing and the native 4k resolution seemed better than real life - not a pixel to be seen! Unfortunately my elation was supplanted by disappointment when the movie started speg blocking and stuttering. A return trip to Bes + Boy for a straight-up exchange resolved the issue. I don't know if this will be typical of the UHD HDR format but I will be returning to pick up RED. 2 for sure.

RED will not disappoint - its a great view.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Opening Scene: The mundane daily routine of a retired CIA Covert Operative is exposed – it was routine. The show is most likely one of the best spy – counter spy flicks that I have seen. With a superb blend of “senior” casting, sensitive directorship, and a very well-written plot-line of pure table-pounding action/intrigue entertainment this is the type of film you will visit again, and there is a twist around every corner that is guaranteed to keep your interest up! It is interesting that the plots star character, Frank [Francis], is a pure romantic with a hard exterior but is soft and gooey on the inside.
