I especially appreciate the digital screen on the outside that always displays the temperature. The freezer was accidentally unplugged the other day and because the display was not on and the screen black, it alerted me to check on it. I plugged it back in, thankfully it was only unplugged for an hour. I would have never known it was unplugged without the digital display!

Since we intend to use it as only a freezer, the knowledge that using it as a refrigerator is somewhat dangerous (in case of a power outage it will default to freezer when the power returns) matters little to us, even though short power outages on REA are common and often go unnoticed. As a freezer it seems to be ideal so far.

Shelves and drawers make it easy to find items, plus door storage. Delivery went great and freezer is working great in garage during winter.

Great price for an upright freezer/fridge

I actually already had a larger capacity upright freezer (name brand) so I used the Insignia to replace my old garage fridge. Its perfect and I love the digital temp control on the front. Can’t beat it for the price

I currently keep it stocked with water, soda, beer, juices, etc. When used as a freezer, it cools fast and stays a solid 10 degrees constantly. I highly recommend it as an addition to your full-time refrigerator.
