Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the superb image quality, reasonable price, and great aperture of the RF50mm F1.8 STM lens. Its compact size, light weight, and ease of use are also appreciated. However, some customers have noted the presence of noise in video and chromatic aberration in photos.

Love the nifty fifty, has been great for portrait shots of my new baby and focuses fairly quick with my R5. Definitely high quality product.

Great for beginner and beyond. Everyone needs a 50mm, and this lens, in particular, is a very good value. An absolute must-have in my book.

Excellent quality. Beautiful images. My only complaint is the STM does not focus as fast as USM. But would it be worth an additional $2800 for the 50mm 1.2 because it has faster focus? Probably not, maybe if you are a professional that charges high dollar.

This is a great basic lens to have for any level of photographer. It is still the only lens I have right now, but it works fine for what I do. I mainly shoot dog photos at events for fun, and I always still get great photos.

This little lens is a BEAST. The Nifty 50 never fails. This RF addition is super sharp, not as sharp as my 85mm 1.2 but a quarter of the price. I highly recommend it if you are on the fence. Very fast focusing

For the price, it’s a fine lens! It’s not the best build IMO but I do understand it’s a nifty-fifty. Image quality is sharp, autofocus is very good. The chromatic aborations from this lens can be a bit unruly to manage and correct but most people won’t even notice unless you are a photo editor. As a consumer lens, this lens would cover most of the bases for a standard focal length lens.

High quality superb lens!!!!!!!! This little guy is great. The autofocus is fast and the new control ring is a huge bonus. It’s not that much of a difference from the original EF canon 50mm 1.8 but it’s great to mount on my canon eos R6 without the adapter. Love it!!!

Love this little cute lens. I have the big heavy 28-70 lens for clients and use this little lens for my family so it’s easier to take to the beach, family trips, etc. The canon r6 camera is magic so even this cheap lens creates beautiful sharp photos!
