Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the superb image quality, reasonable price, and great aperture of the RF50mm F1.8 STM lens. Its compact size, light weight, and ease of use are also appreciated. However, some customers have noted the presence of noise in video and chromatic aberration in photos.

Excellent value for the money. The lens definitely hunts a little in poor lighting, but it’s hard to beat for the cost.

Nice nifty fifty. Changing from EOS lens on prime lens is what I will do first and this is the one you start with then go 35mm and then 85mm. F 1.8 to 2.8. Fast enough in most shooting events.

No brainer - probably should be in the camera bag of anyone with a Canon RF camera. It's so cheap, doesn't take up any room in your bag and can be thrown on the camera quick if you're looking for shallow depth of field.

Love my 50 mm lens. Only bad thing i could say about it is the very obvious vignettes on most shots.. but some simple post editing takes care of that. Great lens!

    RF Nifty Fifty

What can I say? It's the RF model of the nifty fifty. It takes sharp photos all the way down to f/2 (f/1.8 has some vignetting). The only downside for photographers spoiled by the RF ecosystem is that the camera only has a single ring, changeable between focus and control via a switch. It may not be a problem most of the time, but if you use the ring to control the shutter speed or aperture in full manual mode, this design decision makes setting up shots a bit more annoying that it needs to be.
